Reta says one of the best things about working with Meredith is that she never dreamed she'd get to spend so much time with her grown daughter. Meredith helped a few friends plan their weddings before enlisting her mom's help in starting French 75 Events. Now, Reta drives up to Raleigh regularly from her home in Charlotte to meet with brides, with the added bonus of making sure her daughter is eating right and has enough gas money.
Meredith: "I never thought in a million years I would be working with my mother, especially after all the fights on school mornings, but she is the best partner I could ever hope for. She is the greatest taskmaster, which has its ups and downs because she is still calling me and asking, 'Have you done this yet?' "
Reta: "I am such a driven person...and Meredith takes a more laid-back approach, which makes me wonder if she was switched at birth! (It) actually works to our advantage, providing the balance for our team."
